What is PRP Hair Restoration?
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) Hair Therapy is a cosmetic treatment that uses your own platelet-rich plasma — collected and prepared by a registered nurse — to support overall scalp vitality and improve the visible quality of thinning hair. Because it uses your own bioactive components, it offers a gentle, holistic approach to supporting thicker-looking hair and long-term scalp wellness.
How does it work?
A small blood sample is taken and processed to isolate the platelet-rich plasma — the portion containing your body's naturally occurring growth factors and signalling proteins. This concentrate is then delivered to the scalp through microneedling, where it is designed to nourish existing follicles, support a balanced scalp environment, and enhance the appearance of density and strength over time.
Why might it be recommended?
PRP may be recommended as a supportive treatment for clients noticing early changes in hair quality or density. In our garden analogy, it is the step of strengthening the existing roots — supporting the follicles already present so they can function at their best. It is often staged after scalp preparation with Oxygen Activation.

What concerns does it help with?
Who is it suitable for?
Clients seeking a natural, autologous (self-derived) approach to supporting hair quality and scalp vitality. A consultation confirms suitability and the right place for PRP within your programme.
Who may not be suitable?
PRP may not be suitable for clients with certain blood conditions, active scalp infections, or those on specific medications. Your nurse will review your medical history during consultation. It is a cosmetic, supportive treatment and is not a medical treatment for diagnosed hair loss.

What should I expect?
A blood sample is collected and processed to prepare your PRP. After a numbing preparation, microneedling is performed across the scalp and the PRP is delivered into the treatment area. The session takes around 45 minutes including preparation and processing.
Preparation
Stay well-hydrated before your appointment, as this supports the blood draw. Avoid anti-inflammatory medications (such as ibuprofen) for 48 hours beforehand if medically appropriate, as they may affect platelet function. Your nurse will provide full guidance at consultation.
Aftercare
Avoid washing the hair for 12–24 hours. Mild scalp redness, warmth or tenderness may occur and settles within a day or two. Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas and direct sun exposure for 24 hours. Use gentle, sulphate-free products.
Downtime & recovery
Mild redness and tenderness of the scalp is common and typically settles within 24–48 hours. Most clients resume normal activities the next day.
Results
As a supportive treatment, visible improvement in hair quality and the appearance of density develops gradually — typically over a course of 3–4 sessions. Occasional maintenance sessions help sustain results. Individual results vary.
Individual results vary. No specific outcome is guaranteed. Your registered nurse will discuss realistic expectations during your consultation.
Typical treatment journey
PRP is typically the second stage of our nurse-led programme — strengthening the existing roots after the scalp has been prepared. It may be complemented by Cosmetic Exosome Therapy and supported at home with Theradome PRO. Your nurse will confirm the right sequence for you.
